Hemlock Bluff Cloggers
About Us
Since their beginning as an exhibition clogging team in the fall of 1977, the Hemlock Bluff Cloggers have performed at numerous festivals, fairs, shows, and other events and have won major awards in both individual and team competitions.
The first clogging team of its caliber in Wake County, the Hemlock Bluff Cloggers have consistently exhibited professional quality and a genuine appreciation for this unique folk dance which had its beginnings in the southern Appalachian mountains.

Some of the team’s past performances include an appearance at the Miss North Carolina Pageant, Dollywood, USA, the 1982 World’s Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee, and the prestigious Mountain Dance and Folk Festival in Asheville. More recently, the team performed at the largest bluegrass festival in the world in Galax, Virginia as well as at the opening ceremonies of the U.S. Olympic Festival. In 1989 and 1994 the Hemlock Bluff Cloggers represented the United States at the International Folk Dance Festival in Cobh, Ireland. Over the years, the group has performed with such artists as the McLain Family Band, Jimmy Driftwood, and Charlie Daniels. Strong believers in rigid standards of perfection, the Hemlock Bluff Cloggers have reached their present level of success through diligent practice and strong team spirit. Sincerely dedicated to preserving and sharing our native heritage through the traditional art of clogging, the Hemlock Bluff Cloggers are eager to accommodate the need for top quality folk dance entertainers.
I'd rather be clogging. No, really, I'd actually rather be clogging!
